Assessment Committee

In 2007-2008, the membership of ACJS voted to make the previous ad hoc Committee on Assessment a Standing Committee of the Academy.  The role of the Assessment Committee is to create and maintain a repository of information to assist criminal justice faculty in establishing or improving their work in measuring outcomes of student learning and program success.   The Assessment Committee is also responsible for providing workshops on assessment issues and for creating and reviewing assessment materials for use by academic programs in criminal justice and criminology.

The Committee makes recommendations to the ACJS Executive Board.  Committee members are appointed by the incoming ACJS President and committee membership is confirmed by the ACJS Executive Board.  If you are interested in serving on this committee or any other ACJS committee, contact the 1st or 2nd Vice President whose information is included in the ACJS Executive Board listing.

The Assessment Committee requests that you share your assessment experiences, procedures, and tools so that the committee can better assist ACJS members in this growing area of interest.  Please direct your communications to the current chair of the ACJS Assessment Committee whose contact information is included in the ACJS Committee Chairs listing.
