ACJS Panel Chair Reporting System

 ACJS Panel Chair Reporting System

2010 Chair Reporting Form

The ACJS Executive Board authorized Barbara Sims, 2009 Program Chair, to implement a Chair Reporting System for the paper panel sessions at the annual meeting held in Boston, MA.  The purpose of the system was to provide the membership and the ACJS Executive Board with some information about the extent of the problem associated with papers listed on the program for which there were no presenters.  Roundtable moderators were intentionally excluded from the process.

Upon receiving the results of 2009 Program Chair Sims’ report, the ACJS Executive Board decided to institutionalize the system.

The Chair Reporting Form for 2010 will be used by panel chairs to report “no shows,” whether the chair received prior notification of the absence, and the reason for the absence.   The form also includes questions about the quality of the presentations, whether any problems with technology were encountered with use of the LCD projectors, and the number of people (not counting the presenters) attending the panel session. A final question asks chairs to provide any additional comments about their overall perceptions of the program in general.

The summary results of the chair reporting system are available here:
