February 13-17, 2018
Hilton New Orleans Riverside
New Orleans, LA

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE ENTIRE PAGE CONTENTS

IMPORTANT:

Due to the Mardi Gras time of year, travel into New Orleans will be a challenge on the weekend before Mardi Gras, Monday, 2/12, and Tuesday, 2/13.  Please take this into consideration when booking your flights.  It is recommended that you book your hotel room as soon as possible as our room block will definitely sell out.  An overflow hotel has been obtained and the reservation link will be posted online once the Hilton New Orleans Riverside room block is full.

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER.  Given the change in schedule, onsite registration cannot begin until Thursday, 2/15.  You will save time and money by pre-registering.  Pre-Registration will be open until December 15, 2017.  Plan accordingly so that your payment reaches the National Office by that date if you pay by check.

For New Orleans information, please click here to view the Convention and Visitors Bureau site.

2018 DRAFT ACJS Annual Meeting Program

The 2018 DRAFT ACJS Annual Meeting Program is now available for review by clicking here.  Also available are the Presenter Contact Information file and the Presenter Session Index file.

Please review the program for your presentation date and time.  You can do this by searching the program (instructions below) or by checking the Presenter Session Index file (link above).

To search the program:

1.  Press Control-F.

2.  In the Find box, enter the words you wish to search for.

3.  Press Enter to search the document.

The program is a large PDF file.  Be sure to allow the document to fully load before you begin the search process.

If you find that you have a conflict or need to move a paper presentation for another reason, you must first locate another panel to move your paper to, contact the new panel chair to obtain permission for the move (contact information can be found in the Presenter Contact Information file, link above), and then notify the ACJS Association Manager (manager@acjs.org) of the change details.  Please remember that a panel ideally should have a minimum of three (3) papers if at all possible, and should not have more than five (5) papers due to time constraints.

Changes to the draft program must be received by December 15, 2017.  Any changes received after that date will not appear in the final program posted online in early January.  An amended program will be posted online the week before the Annual Meeting with any changes received after the deadline date.  THE DRAFT PROGRAM WILL NOT BE UPDATED TO REFLECT EACH CHANGE SUBMITTED.

THERE WILL BE NO PRINTED PROGRAMS FOR THE 2018 ANNUAL MEETING.  If you wish to have a hard copy of the program, the amended program files online the week before the meeting can be downloaded and printed for your reference.  The ACJS mobile app will be the most up-to-date reference for meeting events.

PLEASE NOTE:  LCD projections will be available in the meeting rooms.  No overhead projectors or computers will be provided.  If you require an HDMI connection to the LCD projector, please bring a cable with you or contact our audio-visual provider prior to your session and request that one be provided to you.  The audio-visual contact number will be posted in the meeting mobile app.   Additional audio-visual equipment is the responsibility of the presenter.  Individuals wanting additional equipment must either bring equipment to the conference or make the necessary rental arrangements through the ACJS audio-visual provider.  Please contact the Association Manager for rental information – manager@acjs.org.

REGISTRATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE 2018 MEDIA TRAINING WORKSHOP
DEADLINE:  JANUARY 30, 2018

As crime and criminal justice topics continue to dominate the news, reporters at mainstream media outlets need credible, knowledgeable and prepared experts to address trending issues.
